Graduation signifies a special step in a student’s life and is an important celebration for the enormous achievements accomplished throughout the academic year. However, graduates had it really rough this past year — the year, the pandemic changed all our lives. Most schools across the Zimbabwe (and even the world) canceled live in-person graduation ceremonies, which has led to some creative alternatives!

To help honor all students who were graduating in 2020, the school held a virtual graduation ceremony. Parents were able to join and view the ceremony which was held live on the school’s Facebook page. The ceremony venue was specifically designed for preschoolers to feel comfortably at ease, also maintaining the social distancing as per the World Health Organization and the local Ministry of Health guidelines.
“Let me take this opportunity to thank all our teachers and staff for their dedication to the learners. A special thank you to Ms Souza our ECD B teacher. Today marks the end of the year, and time for your children to move on. It is very hard for us to believe that your children are leaving us.”
Mrs Nhunhama, Canonbury TIC
Although we were not able to celebrate together in person this year with our parents, we send our graduating preschoolers off to the wider world with prayers for happy, healthy days ahead! Thanks to our dedicated staff and parents who helped them grow, in school and out!
